Sure, I gravitated toward it initially because it seemed like the most effective way for me to prevent pregnancy without synthetic hormones post-HBC 9+ years ago
BUT what I didn’t realize is the immense benefits it would provide me outside of this.
I deepened my relationship with my body in ways I never even knew were possible.
In tracking my basal body temperature each morning and my cervical mucus throughout the day, I am able to more deeply understand the patterns of my cyclical body, how I have recovered from the day prior’s stress levels (physical activity, psychological stress, food, drink, sickness, etc.), if I am in my fertile window, if I’ve ovulated or not, and therefore, the best way I can support myself.
In this way, I am receiving insight into my mood, energy levels, sex drive, brain function, skin elasticity, social inclinations, confidence, immune function, muscle recovery, metabolism, hunger levels and so on.

Yes! It is an inaccurate but common assumption that fertility awareness methods are only for those with regular cycles. Not only can a woman with irregular periods use FAM, but she is often better served doing so because charting her body’s signs or biomarkers can help pinpoint what is happening and/or any underlying issues that may be causing or contributing to her irregular cycle.

FAM is an umbrella term for a variety of different natural pregnancy prevention methods. The most effective and gold standard is the sympto-thermal fertility awareness method, which requires tracking and charting your basal body temperature and cervical fluid daily so that you can accurately identify your fertile window. A cycle tracking app simply allows for you to log in your period and then roughly calculates the rest from there which is not suitable for pregnancy prevention. A fertility tracking app allows you to input biomarkers, like basal body temperature and cervical mucus, to identify your fertile window which can be a supportive tool in pregnancy prevention...but even more so in tandem with professional FAM instruction.

Each workshop will be 60 minutes on Zoom. There will be a larger portion of instruction on the May 1 call anda larger portion for Q&A on the June 5 call.

Yes! Your partner is welcome! When in relationship, it’s a game changer to have your partner bought into and supportive of this method of preventing pregnancy. That way, they also know when you’re in your fertile window, when protection is needed when sexually active, and where you’re at in your cycle generally to optimally show up for you.

That’s perfectly fine. I will be recording them both and sending them out shortly after we finish. If you can make it live though, that would be preferable to receive more interactive, tailored instruction.
